Introducing New Board Member

Meet our newest GGRBC board member: Donovan Tesin!

You may recognize him from different group rides in GR or as a frequent volunteer for bike parking at Gran Fondo or Food Truck Friday events. Donovan is also a member of the Downtown Neighbor Network Advisory Committee advocating for safe micro mobility infrastructure with downtown residents. As someone fairly new to Grand Rapids, he has fully immersed himself in working to improve our city.

“I believe in the transformative power of biking and would like to see Grand Rapids further implement reliable and protected biking infrastructure that further encourages biking as a mode of transportation across the city. Ultimately, I want Grand Rapids to be considered a biking city on par with Ann Arbor and Minneapolis.”

Donovan loves being able to notice small details while on his bike—details that would normally be missed in a car. “It’s a way to feel a deeper connection to your community.” Donovan is not car-free but strives to bike for transportation and recreation needs. As an avid birder, he also loves biking to local wildlife hotspots and down gravel roads at state game areas to birdwatch.
